45 songs you may not know, but should.

45 songs you should listen to.

The Promise Ring - "Pink Chimneys"
Hey. Are you cool?

Johnny Thunders - "You Cant Put Your Arms Around A Memory"
I can.

Camera Obscura - "Lets Get Out Of This Country"
Before the election, please.

Palma Violets - "Best of Friends"
This song title is for my wife.

The Dead Milkmen - "Or Maybe It Is"
I love love love all dead milkmen songs. Love 'em! But I love love love with one extra love this DM song. Hope you like it too.

Guided By Voices - "Hang Up And Try Again"
I always forget the name of this song. Now I won't. Ever.

Sebadoh - "License To Confuse"
The guitar is so dang catchy.....ask Lou Barlow never to do a Gordon Lightfoot cover.

Neutral Milk Hotel - "Two Headed Boy"
This entire album is pretty good to some people...this song is pretty good to all.

Thin Lizzy - "Cowboy Song"
Classic song for classy people like myself.

Frank Black - "Los Angeles"
This guy is the Pixies, but he's also this guy. And also someone else.

Archers Of Loaf - "Harnessed In Slums"
MENSCH!!!!!! I love this band!!!!!! Top 10 easy.

The Minutemen - "Joe McCarthy's Ghost"
My buddy and best friend for years, James turned me on to this band. Legends.

Joy Division -  "Love Will Tear Us Apart"
So the front man killed himself. Good thing they recorded this first.

The Von Bondies - "C'mon C'mon"
I saw these guys perform on Letterman and was like "MAN! these dudes rock!" I really like this song.

The Call - "The Walls Come Down"
OMGoodness......I almost forgot this song. I think it's Christian. Or it is when I hear it.

Violent Femmes - "Prove My Love"
One of the greatest albums of all time, imo. This album makes me think of young girls smoking Marlboro light cigarettes.

Titus Andronicus - "My Eating Disorder"
This song is so dope. How dope is it? Listen if you dare.....but you'll be an addict for sure.

Built to Spill - "Car"
What are we talking about here? Music that should probably be on your playlist? Listen to it. Top 5 favorite bands of all time for sure.

The Pogues - "Fairytale Of New York"
They say "faggot." The lead singers teeth makes him look like he's from Mississippi.

Leftover Crack - "One Dead Cop"
These guys were in heavy rotation for a while....along with Stza's other band Choking Victim. Fair warning, this band is very anti-christian, but at least they're not GG Allin. I've always liked the attitude of punk music and punk rockers....but I also like Jesus way more.

The Frogs - "The Longing Goes Away"
This band was in heavy rotation for a while too. They are soooooo sacrilegious...to the point it's funny...but I don't know if I should laugh or not. I guess I would listen for the shear shock value, I dunno. This is their least offensive song and it's way better when Vedder sings it.

The Pietasters - "Girl Take It Easy"
Man I love ska music!!!! From the Skatalites to Dance Hall Crashers and everything in between. I really really like this song. It's pep.

The Lemonheads - "My Drug Buddy"
One of my all time favorite bands...ever. Always the bridesmaid, they never really got the popularity they deserved. I love this song. I have a fond memory of losing a bet to Josh over one of the lyrics.

The Police - "Voices Inside My Head"
People that know me, know that this is my favorite band of all time. This may not be their best song, but it's one you probably haven't heard AND it's pretty frickin' good. Stewart Copeland is a dang ol' genius.  I really hope you like it.

Dinosaur Jr. - "The Wagon"
Louder than the Who, or so I've heard. Be somebody and listen to this band.

The Doors - "Peace Frog"
I've never been a big fan of anything hippy, but I super like this song. But seriously, unless you're Rob Scott, don't hippy around me.

Murder by Death - "Brother"
I found this band by accident on a compilation CD. Glad I did, and now you're glad I did.

The Melvins - "The Talking Horse"
Possibly the best bridge in all of music. Dust off the ol' air guitar and turn it up to 10.

Sugarcubes - "Birthday"
Bjork is a weirdo. Who cares. You're probably a weirdo. This song is pretty jammin', get over it.

Mudhoney - "Touch Me Im Sick"
You're probably not reading these little comments anyways, but this could be a China Virus theme song. Think about it.

U2 - "40"
If you don't know, this was taken from Psalms 40. I love it that these guys are Christians (or most of them).

The English Beat - "Save It For Later"
Ebony and ivory before paul and michael. I think they had to change their name a bunch of times and wound up with this.

Rod Stewart - "Young Turks"
The rumors aren't true. Were never true. This guy could get any woman he wanted. His voice is way better than Jerry Perry's brother. He does look like he smells like old spice though.

Joe Jackson - "Steppin' Out"
This song is really catchy and I was surprised when I saw the video on how he looked. He looked nothing like I thought he should. My cousin can play the main riff on this song. Maybe Brose can, I dunno.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Maps"
The drummer sucked me in on this one. Anytime I see one playing traditional grip, I think their way better than the run of the mill drummer. The video, the song are pretty dang cool. The singer is so weird she's probably pretty cool

The Waitressess - "I Know What Boys Like"
No hommo. I like the way this song drags, no pun intended. The timing on the lyrics just feel lazy. Crank it, just not too loud if you're a guy.

The Casualties - "We Are All We Have"
Oi! Oi! I saw this band in NOLA.....DAAAAAANNNNNGGGG! What a good time. The bass player is really, really cool. He actually took a couple of shots with me.

Wolfsuka - "Baby You Know Me"
I first heard them on Rogan's podcast. The part at the beginning is what caught me off guard and got me interested in this band.

Tortoise - "Salt The Skies"
I usually don't like instrumentals, but this song is definitely worth a listen.  Good driving song.

The Specials - "A Message To You Rudy"
I have a friend named Rudy. This is to you amigo.

INXS - "Don't Change"
I'm getting tired of writing stuff, but out of all of their songs, this is my favorite. I like this live version the best.

The Widow Babies - "Mike Watt EP"
This is the deepest cut. I had to search and search and search. I don't know how to get ahold of this album, but if you have a copy, I want one. There is no video for this, it's pulled off of a podcast. The songs starts at around 14:30. Please take a listen.

The Kinks - "Father Christmas"
My favorite Christmas song!!!!!!!!!! Well, other than the Christmas carols.

Hodgepodge - "Cloud Song"
When I used to be cool, but still am. That's me on the drums. I always wished James was in this band with me. Shane is the Dylan of the South.

"In Christ Alone"
My favorite hymn used to be Martin Luther's "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." Move over bacon, here comes something meatier. This song makes me wanna punch and hug someone at the same all at the same time.
vĂ¡ com Deus

Honorable mentions:
Rush - Bytor and the Snow Dog
The Dead Weather - I Cut Like the Buffalo
Hella - Biblical Violence
